Dewi Morris

Born on 9th February 1964 in Crickhowell, Wales. Dewi Morris played his rugby with a passion associated with his debut in 1988 through to his last appearance for England against France in 1995.

He made his England debut against Australia in 1988 at Twickenham and it was his performance against the Aussies that thrust him into the limelight - a game which gave many their first taste of his all round scrum half skills.

Richard Hill took over Dewi’s number nine jersey in 1990 and would retain the place for a further two years. In the 1991 World Cup Morris missed out, however, he returned in the '92 season, showing England what they had been missing by scoring tries against Scotland, Ireland and France in the first of his Grand Slam triumphs.

Dewi played in England’s 1995 World Cup campaign, before bowing out in great style after the 3rd/4th place play-off. In total Dewi gained 26 caps for England and won 3 British Lions caps in 1993 v New Zealand.

Along with heading the Curry Clubs with his mate Charlie, Dewi can also be seen most regularly on The Rugby Club and all Sky Sports' live games as one of Sky’s “rugby experts”.
